Mark Choinski is currently a partner of Oak Tree Financial Advisor LLC, owner of Oak Tree Advisors Group LLC, and a Tax Accountant.
With over 23 years in the financial service industry, Mark’s career has included various positions at both CPA firms and Independent Broker Dealers. What Mark enjoys most about his career is listening to his client’s needs and simplifying an intimidating landscape in tax, investments, and retirement planning. Navigating all the components of retirement - how, when, and why - while also considering Social Security, pensions, your 401(k), and IRAs can be daunting and scary. He encourages and promotes communication which he believes makes the client/advisor relationship stronger - in both challenging and positive markets.
Mark finds that earning a client’s trust during this process and life cycle is one of the most rewarding characteristics working as an advisor. He assists his clients with modeling and envisioning a retirement picture with simple risk concepts by using a “bucket approach.” One of Mark’s favorite sayings is, “At the end of the day, it’s not how much you make, it’s how much you keep.” He really enjoys using his tax experience and integrating it with investment and retirement planning. His clients find that having that tax accounting background adds an extra layer to the process of achieving their goals. Not only being focused on investments but taking into considerations the tax implications.
Mark recently teamed up with Michael Gandet and Joseph Choinski to form Oak Tree Financial Advisors LLC. Through their various skill sets and over 75 years of combined work experience they are excited about utilizing all of the firm’s resources to provide a very personal and service driven client experience.
Mark holds his 6, 7, 63 and 65 Securities Licenses as well as Life Insurance and Variable Annuity Licenses. He holds a BFA accreditation - Behavioral Financial Advisor. He attended Pace University Lubin School of Business for Finance in Westchester, NY.
Mark resides in Hyde Park, NY and Fairfield, CT. Outside of his financial practice he enjoys spending time with his wife Kathryn & watching sports with his son Mitchell. Mark’s hobbies and interests include boating, cycling, golf, fly fishing, gardening, cooking, and watching the Mets & Jets - there is always hope.
